CASA: Court Appointed Special Advocates

#1 - A "CASA Volunteer" is screened, trained and then appointed by a judge to advocate for the best interests of an abused or neglected child.  "Do it for the Kids"!

 

#2 - Volunteers are also needed in the area of recruitment, organizing the office library materials and assisting with scheduling speakers for monthly volunteer training and special projects.

Children First:

#1 - Children First uses volunteers in many areas and we are always looking for extra volunteer help.

   >  Children First is also looking for donation money to help support quality child care homes in our community.

   >  Children First could also use supplies for child care homes, such as, but not limited to safety latches of all shapes and sizes, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, first aid kits or supplies, etc.

Payson Humane Society & Friends:

1.  Volunteer needed to take photographs of shelter animals.  Photos are used on our website, Pet Finders, local newspaper ads, etc. 

2.  Volunteers needed to help supervise dogs in the play yard behind the shelter.  Must be in good physical condition, comfortable with handling 60 lb. dogs.  The hours are from 7:30-9:30 a.m., Monday through Saturday.

3.  Volunteers are needed to walk shelter dogs.  Must be age 16 or older, enjoy being around dogs.  Training will be provided.

4.  Volunteers needed to play with the cats.  Must be age 16 or older, enjoy being around cats & handling them gently.

Volunteers are need to work at the Museum as Goodwill Ambassadors/Hosts.  Must be reliable, able to work alone, handle telephone and personal contact with visitors, follow written and verbal instructions, and handle retail sales.

Read-Out Program has immediate need for Volunteers:

This program is a joint effort between the Juvenile Court, Payson Library & LFOP/Rim Readers to work with selected juveniles on probation in a personal reading program.  Volunteer participation would require about an hour a week to keep this rewarding program going.

Rim Country Literacy Program:

1.  Volunteer Tutors needed to assist others in learning & obtaining ABE/Adult Basic Education, GED/General Education Diplomas and ESL/English as a Second Language.

 

2.  The Literacy Program is seeking office assistance. If you love books & enjoy helping others, you’ll love volunteering at the Rim Country Literacy office.

 

3.  Volunteers needed in our Family Reading & Tutoring English programs.  If you have a desire to help others achieve their goal in learning to speak English more fluently--this is a program where you can help make a BIG difference in the lives of others.

 

4.  Volunteers needed to tutor adults in learning the English language. Tutoring could be in beginning or intermediate speaking, read and writing.  Individual student/tutor sessions as well as instructors for small group classes are needed.
