Mission Statement:   

To provide assistance to those individuals and/or families who find their lives in a "state of crisis" or in an emergency situation critical to personal health and safety.

Organization History:

In December of 1991, a group of concerned people met to address the problems of housing and utility payments for low-income families in the Payson area during the coming winter months. Fundraisers were held and along with private donations enough monies were raised to help the needy families through the cold winter months. Payson Helping Payson was so successful a decision was made to keep this program an active charitable organization in our town.

PHP has an all-volunteer staff and no overhead. We help between 80 and 100 families per year with $10,000 to $15,000. We are funded by many local churches and organizations, the Rim Country United Way, as well as individual donation.

Services We Provide:

 PHP hopes to be in a position to help needy families in a crisis situation when other public funds are not available.

We help with rents and utilities when the client has an eviction notice or utility shut off notice. We help Time Out Shelter women with emergency assistance and also the Rim Country Literacy group in purchasing textbooks for those who can't afford them. PHP also helps with "special needs" for those in a crisis situation.

How You Can Help:

HELP US HELP PEOPLE IN CRISIS -- Ask your Church or Club to join us in helping families who find themselves in a crisis situation. You may do this by donating money on an annual or monthly basis, whatever your "outreach" budget allows.

 

Individuals may also make a tax-deductible donation. The more funds available to PHP, the more families we can help. We are called "Payson Helping Payson" and the dollars stay in the Payson area to help Payson People.
