Mission Statement:

PAWS is the support group for the Payson off-leash Dog Park, located on McLane Rd. in Rumsey Park just north of the Payson Library.

PAWS is dedicated to the encouragement of responsible pet ownership through education and example. Our #1 goal has been to establish a place for dog owners to exercise their pets and find companionship in a safe environment.

History:

PAWS was begun by a few area pet owners in cooperation with Payson Park and Recreation Department. The land for the park was provided to PAWS by the Town of Payson. The money to fence the land was provided by fundraisers, public donations and donations from community businesses. PAWS members have been successfully following the guidelines of our mission statement and our off-leash dog park is a great success and open to all responsible visitors.

Community Services:

We volunteer services and support for the Payson Humane Society. We have club meetings on the first Wednesday of each month during which we feature a speaker on animal and/or community related subjects.

We sponsor fund raising events, for which volunteers are always appreciated. The money raised from these events is allocated to various projects including the spay/neuter program at the Payson Humane Society.

Community Projects:

Some of the PAWS fund raising activities include our Annual Easter Bake Sale and Dog Day in the Park, a day of entertainment for pets and people and sales of PAWS logo products and baked goods items.
