Our mission is to create collaborative community partnerships dedicated to providing supportive services to, by and for elders, disabled adults and their families in order to maintain independence, enhance dignity and improve quality of life while continuing to live in their own home.
ElderBuilders has been an asset to the communities of Globe and Miami for the past 4 years. In December 2002, ElderBuilders set up a service in Payson, and has been providing services to persons with disabilities & low income, homebound seniors through funding provided by various organizations and tax deductible donations from clients & the general public.
Community Services We Provide: ElderBuilders assists low income, homebound seniors and persons with disabilities (18 years & older) by providing services for them, in and out of the home. Services include TRANSPORTATION to doctor appointments, grocery shopping and errands (client can go with the volunteer or give the volunteer a list); FRIENDLY VISITOR - by phone or in person. The volunteer can take the client out for a drive or to a restaurant or movie; Light Meal Preparation, Housekeeping, Yard Work, Minor Repairs, Assistance with Letter Writing & Paying Bills; Respite for the caregiver.
Community Projects We Sponsor: In addition to the ElderBuilders program, under Gila Aging Services, is Case Management which provides home delivered meals, visiting nurse assistance, home health aid, personal care, respite, adult day health, and housekeeping.
Assist Low Income, Homebound Seniors and Disabled Individuals needing assistance /18 years & older
We are looking for "Volunteers" who would enjoy paying a friendly visit, taking a client to lunch to a movie or for a ride; providing transportation to an appointment or the grocery store, running an errand, respite for a family caregiver, light housekeeping, light yard care, or light meal preparation. Any of these small gestures, can make a Big difference in someone's life. You are matched with a client by what you like to do and the amount of time you want to donate.
Volunteers are required to obtain a TB screening, provide a DMV driving record covering the past 3 years and take a CPR and First Aid training course. We ask for 3 reference letters. Volunteers are reimbursed for mileage. Set your own schedule.
ElderBuilders pays for the cost of the TB screening, DMV driving record, the CPR and First Aid course.
Enrich your life with rewarding
moments of service by providing the opportunity for a low income,
homebound senior or disabled person to continue living in his/her own
home.
